About McLeod Engineering Cairns
McLeod Engineering was founded in Cairns in 1976 by Bill McLeod, who built a solid reputation servicing the marine industry until his retirement in 2012, when he passed over the reins to current owners and long-term employees Dan McLeod and Dennis Bissett.
Dan McLeod is a qualified Diesel Fitter with a vast range of experience and troubleshooting abilities. He started his apprenticeship at McLeod Engineering back in 1993, and worked in a number of positions in the marine industry, both locally and internationally before returning to McLeod Engineering back in 2008.
Dennis Bissett started in a spare parts role with McLeod Engineering in 2003. Prior to that, he spent 17 years at MTU Detroit Diesel in spare parts. While he has now stepped back from a day to day role and is enjoying retirement, he remains great source of knowledge for our team to draw on as required.
The McLeod Engineering team also has a further 2 qualified Diesel Fitters, who both boast a range of skills and many years of experience, a strong and successful apprenticeship program, and the support of our highly experienced Parts/Service manager, Administration manager and Finance manager.
